Public Notice: Icy Road Conditions in the Rural Municipality

The Rural Municipality (RM) wishes to inform residents that we are aware of the current icy road conditions throughout the municipality. Recent fluctuations in temperature, freezing rain, and snowfall have contributed to challenging road conditions.

While salting roads is a common practice, it is not always effective during extreme cold weather. Salt can cause ice to melt temporarily, but when temperatures drop again or winds increase, the melted ice can refreeze, often resulting in ruts and further complications.

With the anticipated snow and wind expected in the coming days, we encourage all residents to exercise caution when driving, reduce speeds, and ensure vehicles are properly equipped for winter conditions. The RM is closely monitoring road conditions and working to address them using methods best suited to current weather patterns.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these challenges together.
